Reginleiv & Urukan Reunited

Long ago, there raged a battle in a far off land. An all out war between two rising powers. Many allies and lesser gods perished, but she survived. In truth, she was spared. Now she waits for that day when she can meet her comrades in the golden halls once more. Her name is Reginleiv, a queen given by the gods whose land is named Nineveh. Her title is ‘The Queen with a Radiant Glow’, for she possesses powers from the Realm of Light. This realm was the realm of the ultimate pure gods and goddesses that gave a portion of their power to those they concluded as worthy.

Her enemies were gaining new lands by the day, winning many battles against her allies. Even her sister, Rassa, was wary for the enemies reaching their lands. Rassur was the head commander of the elegant guards for the Sky Castle of Nineveh, who coast around looking for trespassers and any threats to their home. So, Reginleiv decided to finally leave her kingdom and meet her allies from the kingdom Valkyrie, where her brother Urukan reigns as the king. Her plans with working together with her brother would be tough, as they often has opposing viewpoints on how to handle their forces during times of war. But, he was her brother, and they had to work together for the sake of their kingdoms.

It was early morning in the throne room of Valkyrie, and Reginleiv was standing along side with her other allies before her throned brother, Urukan.

“So, Reginleiv, a sound amount of time has passed since we last met with each other. I understand that you and your allies are requesting my help against the kingdom of Vner.”

He stood up from his throne and promptly walked to a large map that covered an entire wall and said,

“Besides you and I, there are only three more neighboring kingdoms standing and not captured by Vner. So, considering the circumstances, you will try to make peace with them like you have in the past? Such an idea is foolish in such harsh times, my sister.” He turned to her, arms behind his back and waited for a response.

“Yes, I believe battle and fighting should only be a last resort, but you know that in the past even when I try to battle my forces are sucummed by Vner. The dark gods have given him much more power than the pure gods have given me. And the pure gods have warned me to only use their power for good purposes like making peace - not slaughtering and taking other lands!”

“Reginleiv! Cast away from your mind any ‘warnings’ from the gods and take advantage of the power they have given you! Even now, I wonder why the gods have given you power that could take out an entire army but you don’t even use it! If I was given such power I would have used it a century ago!”

She was greatly troubled and didn’t know what to say, until a comrade of her’s said,
“King Urukan, if I may speak, I would like to bring forth a quick resolution to the problem.”

Urukan gave a great sigh and crossed his arms. “Speak, please.”

“If you are so anxious as to having power from the gods, why don’t you ask them to give you power to help your sister in this great time of need? You know the pure gods only give power to those with noble intentions - and helping a royal family member in need would classify as such.”

“Yes, that is true, however the gods are also getting anxious in this time of despair, and I know that they will want a royal sacrifice in exchange. The only other royal blood closest to Reginleiv is Rassa, the head commander of her kingdom. I will not allow my only other sister to be sacrificed for my own gain!” He threw his hands in the air in frustration, walked back to his throne and tossed himself upon it.

“I completely understand, my brother, for I too do not wish to lose my sister, Rassa. So...I have made my decision.” She stepped forth and said with great bravery,
“I will use all of my power to defeat Vner once and for all! For only then will all of us be at peace once again. Urukan, my brother, I solemnly swear to justly work together with you in any way I can.”

His face lit up with great surprise as he leaned forward and said, “Do you truly mean your word? Will you, Reginleiv?”

“As truly as I can, I will.” She said with a soft voice, and then walked towards her brother and gave him a warm hug. He was even more surprised by this and ever so slowly wrapped his arms around her as a tear shed from his left eye.

“Then let us work together to protect our kingdoms, and, ultimately, each other.” He whispered this to her and there was a regained connection of love between the two of them, one that was stronger than ever before.

And so with the right preparations for battle and the declaration of entering the fray of war, Reginleiv and Urukan headed themselves and their forces off to conquer the kingdom of Vner. For they, too, would be a part of battle with Reginleiv’s blinding, burning light and Urukan’s mighty, powerful steeds to trample his enemies.

It is a cloudy, ominous midday as they are hiding behind the hills near Vner’s meeting castle, where he would announce that he would next conquer Urukan’s kingdom. They suspected that the best thing to do is to kill Vner here versus his homeland, where his forces are tightly armed and on crisp watch for sighting enemy forces.

“We’re going to get you, Vner!” Urukan shouted as he held his sword up in confidence. He eyed a special soldier and beckoned him to come forth. The young warrior excitedly ran to him and said, “My lord, what is it that you need me for?”

Urukan replied “Halford, you are a skilled defense soldier that has exceptional speed and strength with your halberd. I want you to be my sister’s body guard as her powers are wary to disappear at any moment in time. They may not last long if the gods are displeased with her using of them in such a brutal way. Be with her at all times.”

Halford widely grinned as he said, “Haha, no need to worry, my lord! This is the same as normal training to me. Trust me!” Reginleiv turned to her brother and worryingly said, “But Urukan, are you sure he seems fit for the task?

Urukan reassuringly replied, “Although he seems aloof and unreliable, don’t take it to heart. Alongside you, his strength will outshine any worries you may have, and his knowledge is sure to help comfort you as you stride into battle.” Reginleiv glanced at the happy Halford and felt reassured of her safety. With Halford at her side, Reginleiv lifted her hands and said to their forces, “Over here! Follow us and do not look back!” Their warriors all lifted their swords in the air and gave a united battle cry. They were off to begin the battle.
